Martta Kaukonen has been awarded the prestigious Giacomo Leopardi Scholarship at the Leopardi Writing Conference in Italy. Founded in 2018, the Leopardi Writing Conference takes its name from Giacomo Leopardi (1798-1837), one of the most famous authors in Italian literature and one of the greatest authors of his time. The conference invites writers to an intensive, week-long workshop led by leading publishing professionals and bestselling authors. Each year, scholarships are offered to outstanding applicants. This year, Kaukonen was under the excellent direction of bestselling thriller authors Alex Finlay (Every Last Fear), Jennifer Hillier (Things We Do in the Dark), and Sarah Pekkanen (House of Glass).
